This week’s top tips to level up your podcast are around mastering audio basics. Making sure all sound sources are balanced correctly takes time and thought. Here are three actionable tips to take into your workflow and make a difference to your podcast.
Adjust your Levels: Before you hit record make sure everyone’s volume levels are consistent. This may mean altering the gain on your recording device if you’re in person or asking guests to change their volume input setting if you’re recording remotely.
Balance Voices: Once you have your files make sure everyone’s audio has equal prominence.
Eliminate Noise: If noise on your recording is distracting use a background noise removal tool to clean it up. Set it at a gentle level to be sure you aren’t cutting out any of the main audio.
